Levine Children’s Hospital Presents a Magical Evening at the Nutcracker
On December 13, employees and current and former patients and families from Levine Children’s Hospital were honored at a special performance of Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux’s world premiere season of the Nutcracker. For the second year, Levine Children’s Hospital has presented this timeless holiday show while remembering those children and families in our community who rely on the hospital’s life-saving services and programs.
One special ballerina, Julia Nesbitt – a pediatric cancer patient at Levine Children’s Hospital – danced her way into the hearts of all who watched, taking the stage as a guest performer. Diagnosed with leukemia at age two, Julia has been dancing her way back to health, while her parents dream of the day when their little princess will be cancer free. That day is soon approaching, as Julia and her family recently celebrated her last chemotherapy treatment. She got the “star” treatment, arriving in a limo at Levine Children’s Hospital, where the Child Life team and caregivers treated her to cake and ice cream.
Levine Children’s Hospital and the Nutcracker are celebrating the gift of life during this holiday season.
