Two upcoming events supporting the Adam Faulk Tanksley Foundation

Two upcoming events supporting the Adam Faulk Tanksley Foundation will benefit pediatric cancer research efforts at Levine Children’s Hospital.

Just last month, the Adam Faulk Tanksley Foundation – established in honor of five-year-old cancer survivor Adam Tanksley – announced it was committing $500,000 to Levine Children’s Hospital. The organization is already hard at work, raising funds to help provide local access to high-level clinical trials and cancer-related studies for pediatric cancer patients in our community:

• On Thursday, September 17, present the attached flyer at any South Charlotte Five Guys restaurant, between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., and 20% of your check will be donated to the Adam Faulk Tanksley Foundation. Visit http://www.fiveguys.com/ for directions.

• Don’t miss out the Second Annual AdamFest Family Fun Day on Saturday, October 3*, from noon-5pm at The Hunter Berry Farm. Enjoy music, hayrides, face painting, food provided by Texas Roadhouse, and more! To purchase tickets, please visit http://www.chompchildhoodcancer.org/. Proceeds from all ticket sales will go to the Adam Faulk Tanksley Foundation.  (*Rain date Sunday, October 4).

At the age of three, Adam Tanksley was diagnosed with Stage IV Anaplastic Wilms’ Tumor – a very rare form of pediatric kidney cancer. The Tanksley family spent 360 days at Levine Children’s Hospital in 2008 as Adam received extensive treatment.  He currently has clear CT scans and has just started kindergarten.
