The Sandbox

A celebration of life and an opportunity to provide teens and young adults who are battling cancer or life altering illnesses a entire day to celebrate the 'rock stars' that they truly are – We would like to introduce you to the 'An Evening of Believing' prom produced by The Sandbox.

In mid 2011 and after being approached by a social worker of Levine Children's Hospital to produce a prom for our patients, The Sandbox co-founders, Mara Campolungo and Brian Dulin, rallied local businesses, volunteers and our community to lock arms with The Sandbox to make this request a reality. On September 23rd, 2011, 173 honorees were treated to their night of their lives at the 'An Evening of Stars' prom. We are excited to say that for the 2nd year, on September 28th, 2012, The Sandbox will again be providing this opportunity for over 200 honorees and their escorts!

The vision of the 'An Evening of Believing' prom is to give these special teens and young adults an evening where their treatments and diagnoses' are not the main focus. Instead, they will enjoy a full day where they are treated like royalty! All honorees and their escorts have selected their prom dresses and tuxedos and on September 28th, all they will receive a hair and make-up consultation, a limo ride to Founders Hall, a catered buffet and an evening of hitting the dance floor and celebrating with their friends!

Because of the generosity of our community, this prom comes a no cost to the families as all aspects of this prom come from support of the community in the way of monetary donations from individuals, grants, fundraisers, donation of services and products.
