Panthers Bring "Camp Levine" to Stadium to Launch Keep Pounding Fundraiser
A pep rally was held at Bank of America Stadium today to announce the official opening of registration for the 2nd Annual Keep Pounding 5K Stadium Run presented by North Highland Consulting. The event, which benefits pediatric cancer research efforts at Levine Children's Hospital, is schedule for May 19.
Seven-year-old Xander Vanover, who has endured a battle with leukemia, made the official announcement, surrounded by a "pom squad" of North Highland representatives and Sir Purr. Former Panthers player and coach Sam Mills III also shared encouraging words about the Keep Pounding initiative, which originated with his late father's inspirational locker room speech to the Carolina Panthers. He urged them to "Keep Pounding" on the field, as he did in his fight against cancer.
ABOUT THE RACE: This second annual event, scheduled May 19, will raise funds to help "sideline" pediatric cancer. The Keep Pounding 5K Stadium Run offers participants a one-of-a-kind experience that includes a challenging ramp run up to Bank of America Stadium’s 500 level and a spectacular descent and finish line through the team tunnel and onto the stadium field.
