The cardiac staff at Levine Children's Hospital is committed to providing patients and their families the very best medical care available. In additions to cardiologists and surgeons, a collaborative team of professionals including nurses, cardiac intensivists anesthesiologists, respiratory therapists, social workers, and dieticians will be involved in providing medical care, emotional support, and education.
The cardiac inpatient unit is located on the eighth floor of Levine Children's Hospital. The cardiac inpatient unit will be for infants, children, and adolescents with heart disease. In addition, pediatric patients who have undergone surgical procedures or cardiac catheterizations will be admitted to the cardiac inpatient unit.
The cardiac intensive care unit at Levine Children's Hospital is a separate 10-bed facility dedicated solely to the management of heart disease in pediatric patients. Most of the patients in this unit will be postoperative cardiac patients. In addition, the intensive care unit also manages children that require specialized care with non-surgical conditions such as heart failure, arrhythmias, and other complications associated with congenital heart disease.
