Learn, Live, Hope Raises Over $1 Million for Sick and Injured Children
Learn, Live, Hope, a benefit for the Hendrick Marrow Program and Levine Children's Hospital, was held May 20-21. Bank of America served as title sponsor and Choate Construction was presenting sponsor for the event, which raised over $1 million for sick and injured children in the Carolinas. The event featured a reception, dinner, and live auction on the 20th, followed by a celebrity golf tournament the next day.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Hendrick Marrow Program and the October opening of Levine Children's Hospital, the founder of Learn, Live, Hope, Rick Hendrick, said, 'What I have learned over the last ten years, is that together, we can make a difference for patients who are living for today because they have hope for tomorrow. These patients and their families cling to their hope for a bright future, but rely on organizations like the Hendrick Marrow Program and Levine Children's Hospital to make that life-changing difference.'

Learn, Live, Hope was filled with big moments as Sunday evening's guests witnessed the results of two special miracles. Rylan Teague, a patient at The Children's Hospital at Carolinas Medical Center, and her mom spoke to the crowd about the difference they were making in the lives of children in the community. In addition, Hendrick Marrow Program recipient and bone marrow transplant patient Isaac and his family were introduced to Isaac's marrow donor. Both families expressed gratitude for the commitment the Hendrick family has to children in this region.

At the next day's golf tournament, some Hendrick Racing Team members including: Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch and Casey Mears traded in their racing suits for golf spikes 'teed it up' to help benefit children. Panther players Brad Hoover, David Carr, and Coach John Fox also hit the links to help Live, Learn, Hope meet its million dollar goal.

Generous support from the following sponsors also played a major role in the event's success: ADP Dealer Services, AutoTrader.Com, BDC Experts, CARFAX, Carolinas HealthCare Foundation, Cisco Systems, Inc. & Internetwork Engineering, Dixon Hughes, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, GMAC, Hendrick Motorsports, Redline Design, Reynolds and Reynolds, Spectrum Brands, Sunbelt Rentals, and Time Warner Cable.

A heartfelt thank you to Rick and Linda Hendrick for their vision and for reminding us of Albert Einstein's words, 'Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.'
