Part of healing is having a positive attitude and enjoying some fun moments. We offer several amenities that will make your time with us feel more normal or even provide opportunities for some fun! 

The playroom has a daily schedule of activities such as arts and crafts planned for younger children. In addition to participating in structured activities, children can play with interactive toys and trucks, work on puzzles, play board games or draw.

The teen activity room is a good hangout location for teenage patients. With a foosball table, pinball machine, games, computers and comfortable bean bag chairs, the teen activity room is a great change of pace. The Child Life staff plans a Teen Night one night a week when teens can socialize, play games or watch movies.

A family kitchen area — with a refrigerator, microwave and ice machine — is located on all of our Pediatric units and in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit waiting area. We can also arrange for access to a washer and dryer, meal tickets for parents, and a special menu for children is also available.

An interdenominational chapel is located on the second floor and is open 24 hours a day. Services are held weekdays at 11:30 a.m. and at 10 a.m. on Sundays. Chaplains on the CMC staff are also available 24 hours a day to meet with a patient or family member. The Gift Shop is located in the LCH lobby and is open Monday through Friday 10am-5pm. The Gift Shop can be reached at 704-381-2052. There is also a second gift shop in CMC's lobby and is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The CMC Gift Shop can be reached at 704-355-2238.

Patient representatives are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist patients, families and visitors with comments, concerns, feedback and special needs.
