Why Levine Children's Hospital?

• Critically ill children requiring immediate treatment can be airlifted to The Children's Hospital by MedCenter Air's fixed wing or helicopter service. A specially trained pediatric ground transport team is also available.
• We performed more pediatric open heart surgeries than any other children's hospital in North Carolina in 2002
• We performed the first neonatal heart transplant in the region in 1989 and have had an ongoing pediatric cardiac transplant program ever since
