Levine Children's Hospital cares for infants in Charlotte and throughout the region who require specialized care. There are ten board certified neonatologists, 20 neonatal nurse practitioners, and over 140 nurses who directly support our neonatal intensive care nursery and our progressive care nursery.
Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery
The Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery is a gift to children of the Carolinas made possible by Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. Here, the tiniest newborns, either born prematurely or with dangerous health problems, receive the highest possible level of care from skilled physicians and nurses specially trained to care for neonates.
Neonatal Progressive Care Nursery
Specifically designed for premature or low birthweight infants, the 32-bed step-down Neonatal Progressive Care Nursery offers continuing care from the neonatal team after leaving the Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery. The nursery, made possible by a gift from The Harris Foundation, is staffed by skilled specialists in neonatal care and offers more space for families as they prepare to take their babies home.
