The 20 private patient rooms and four observation rooms on the ninth floor are appropriately configured to accommodate the needs of families with younger children. 

This floor, made possible by the Dickson Foundation and Harris Teeter, is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment to support healthy recoveries from a wide variety of injuries and illnesses typical among infants and toddlers. 

The ninth floor is comfortably furnished and decorated, and includes a playroom geared to the needs and interests of younger children.
